Revenue and Gardaí seize cannabis worth €3.2 million in Meath

As part of ongoing joint investigations targeting organised crime groups, a joint intelligence led operation was conducted by Revenue, the Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau and the Special Crime Task Force, supported by officers from the Eastern Region.

Yesterday (31/01/2017) at round 16:00, a number of persons and vehicles were intercepted in the Ashbourne area of Meath. A local business premises was also searched. During this stop and search operation, approximately 160 kilos of Cannabis Herb was seized and Gardaí arrested four Irish males, aged between 25 and 61, for drug trafficking offences. The street value of the drugs seized in this investigation is estimated at €3.2 million.

Joint Investigations by Revenue and An Garda Síochána are continuing, both domestically and internationally, in respect of this significant seizure of drugs destined for the Irish Market.
