Revenue seizes herbal cannabis worth €12,000 in Galway

Yesterday (29/03/16), Revenue officers seized approximately 800 grams of herbal cannabis worth €12,000 following the search of a house in the Galway City area. The search was conducted as part of an intelligence lead, joint operation involving Revenue’s Customs Service, the Garda’s Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau and the Galway Drugs Unit. Gardaí arrested a Slovakian man in his 40s under Section 15 of the Misuse of Drugs Acts (as amended). The man has been detained at Mill St. Garda Station, Galway under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

Investigations are on-going.
