Revenue seize cocaine at Dublin Airport

As part of an intelligence- led joint operation with An Garda Síochána on Tuesday (26/01/2016), Revenue officers seized 1.7kgs of cocaine with an estimated street value of almost €120,000 at Dublin Airport.

A 44 year old woman from Guyana was stopped by officers and found to have ingested 100 pellets of cocaine. The pellets were seized by Revenue and the woman, who was arrested by Gardaí, was detained at Ballymun Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

Investigations are continuing.
