Revenue and Gardaí seize cigarettes, drugs and cash in Dundalk

Acting on intelligence, Revenue officers searched two houses in Dundalk yesterday evening (26/05/2016) and quickly uncovered 20,000 smuggled cigarettes branded "Excellence" along with 7 kgs of "Flandria" tobacco. The illegal tobacco products represent a potential loss to the Exchequer of approximately €11,000.

Gardaí from Dundalk were called to the scene when further searching revealed herbal cannabis and cannabis resin with an estimated street value of €63,000 and €20,000 in cash.

No arrests were made and investigations are ongoing with a view to prosecution.
