Revenue seizes 10kg of herbal cannabis in Dublin

On the 13/10/16, in Dublin, Revenue Officers seized over 10kg of herbal cannabis in two joint operations with An Garda Síochána.

In Dublin Airport, Revenue Officers, with the assistance of the Garda National Immigration Bureau, seized over 6kg of herbal cannabis. The drugs were discovered in the checked-in baggage of a passenger who had arrived on a flight from Madrid. The 50 year old Malaysian man was arrested at the scene and appeared in the Dublin District Court today (14/10/16) where he was remanded in custody to Cloverhill prison.

In a separate operation in North Dublin, Revenue Officers, in conjunction with the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, seized 4kg of herbal cannabis. Investigations are ongoing with a view to prosecution.

The estimated total value of the seized drugs is €206,000.
