Revenue seizes cigarettes and tobacco in Cork
Today (14/07/2016), Revenue officers, assisted by detector dog Harvey and acting on intelligence, seized 8,000 cigarettes and 26.5kg of roll your own tobacco, following the search under warrant of a house on the north side of Cork city.
The cigarettes, branded “Excellence”, and the tobacco, branded 'Flandria', have a retail value in excess of €16,855, representing a loss to the Exchequer of approximately €13,300.
An Irish man in his 50s has been interviewed and investigations are ongoing with a view to prosecution.
