Revenue seizes over 11,000 cigarettes on Moore Street

In the past week, and as part of Revenue's ongoing operations targeting the supply and sale of illegal cigarettes in Dublin City, Revenue officers, supported by the Detector Dog Unit, have seized 11,500 cigarettes and 7.65 kg of tobacco in the Moore Street area of Dublin.

The cigarettes, which included brands such as "Dorchester" and "MG", have a retail value of €9,700, representing a potential loss to the Exchequer of over €7,700.

Several people have been questioned in relation to the detections and files are being prepared with a view to prosecution.
