Controlled drugs worth €10,000 seized in Waterford

Yesterday (11/07/2016), as part of an intelligence led joint operation involving Revenue’s Customs Service, the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, the Waterford Drugs Unit and the Health Products Regulatory Authority (HPRA), a house in the Waterford area was searched. A quantity of controlled drugs, 5,000 Diazepam and Alprazolam and 50g Cannabis Resin, was seized. The combined value of the drugs is around €10,000.

A male aged 29 and a female aged 28 were arrested by Gardaí and remain detained at Waterford Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 as amended.

Investigations are continuing.
