Revenue seizes illegal alcohol
In an ongoing operation targeting alcohol imported illegally from Northern Ireland, Revenue officers have seized more than 3,000 bottles of wine since last month. The initial seizure was made in Monaghan, when 110 cases of assorted wines intended for commercial sale and the motor van carrying them, were seized by Revenue Officers based in Monaghan.
In follow-up operations, further seizures have been made in retail outlets across a number of counties.
The seizures are part of Revenue’s ongoing operations targeting the supply and sale of illegally imported alcohol products.
