Revenue seizes cocaine in Portlaoise

On Monday (7/03/2016), Revenue officers seized 500 grams of cocaine with an estimated value of €35,000. This was part of a joint intelligence led operation with an An Garda Síochána in Portlaoise.

The drugs were discovered during the search of a house in Portlaoise where a 38-year-old female was arrested by Gardai.

The woman was detained at Portlaoise Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

Investigations are continuing.
