Revenue seizes over 20kgs of herbal cannabis at Rosslare Europort

In routine operations today (07/10/2016) at Rosslare Europort, Revenue officers seized 20.8kg of herbal cannabis, when they stopped and searched a cattle truck, with the assistance of detector dog, Ralph.

The cattle truck was carrying a load of ceramics and had travelled from Cherbourg. The drugs have an estimated value of €416,000, and were discovered concealed in the ceramics.

A 33 year old Irish male was arrested by An Garda Siochana at the scene, and has been detained for questioning. If you know someone involved in smuggling, report it. Contact Revenue’s Confidential Freephone 1800 295 295.
