Revenue seizes benzodiazepine in Limerick
As part of an intelligence-led joint operation between Revenue, An Garda Síochána and the Health Products Regulatory Authority (HPRA) on Monday (01/02/2016) officers seized approximately 10,500 Benzodiazepine tablets with an estimated street value of €21,000 at an address in Kileely, Limerick.
The tablets, a type of tranquilizer, which when taken without prescription can have serious toxic effects, had been sent from Austria.
A 59 year-old male was arrested by Gardai and detained at Henry Street Garda Station, under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
Investigations are continuing.
